About The Position

Assistant Directors will play a special role in bringing our unique curriculum to life in our centers. As an Assistant Director, you’ll develop and lead teacher training from implementation in our classrooms to ongoing teacher training and development.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or related field required.
  • Prior experience in ECE for 2 years, with a minimum of at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and discovery go hand-in-hand
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • NAEYC/NAC, and state licensing knowledge
  • Meet state-specific guidelines for the role
  • Physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
  • Able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
  • Read, write, understand, and speak English to communicate with children and their parents in English
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Basic reading and Literacy
  • Ability to pass background checks satisfactorily
  • Wiliness to complete TB tests as needed

Responsibilities

  • Ensure our world-class curriculum is presented as intended and that teachers can speak to the curriculum and what children are learning and complete fidelity checks.
  • Deliver and track new hire training and orientation.
  • Spend 60% of your time in the classroom, coaching, mentoring and modeling for teachers.
  • Partner with parents with a shared desire to provide the best care and education for their children.
  • Train, motivate and lead staff and assist center management with interviewing and hiring teachers.
  • Implement and administer the internal Teacher Certification Program.
  • Support your center's success by partnering with center staff and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditation, and operational objectives.
  • Provide coaching and development to continuously improve C.L.A.S.S. scores for VQB5. (Virginia Quality Birth to Five).
  • Maintain C.L.A.S.S. certification in at least one age group.
  • Track employee training and professional development plans.
  • Oversee ASQ Assessments, follow-up plans, and referrals.
  • Fill in during the absence of the Center Director.
  • Other duties as assigned.
