About The Position

At Mothership Coffee, we're looking for an Assistant Café Manager who takes ownership, makes decisions, and drives results. You'll run the café on the Café Manager's days off and work alongside them to hit our targets every day. We're a mission-driven coffee company grounded in community, innovation, and integrity. Requirements

Experience as a Shift Lead or Assistant Café Manager in a café, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
Working knowledge of financial metrics (labor %, waste, COGS).
Ability to lead a team independently during manager-on-duty shifts.
Availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Southern Nevada Health District Food Handler Card, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Serve as manager on duty on the Café Manager's scheduled days off.
Lead daily operations from the floor, setting the standard for service and speed.
Drive financial performance: gross profit, labor %, and waste control.
Build and adjust schedules, manage inventory, and place orders.
Identify operational problems and put solutions in place.
Coach and develop Shift Leads and Baristas through direct feedback.
Conduct first-round interviews and provide hiring recommendations.
Support performance reviews and disciplinary actions with fairness and clarity.
Uphold health and safety standards in full compliance with regulations.
