We are looking for a highly organized, analytical, and proactive Assistant Buyer to support the growth and management of our premium product assortment. In this role, you will be a key executional partner to the category Buyer, ensuring the accuracy of our product catalog and the success of vendor collaborations. You will serve as the operational engine for your category, managing everything from SKU optimization and site presentation to the logistical execution of promotional events and sampling programs. This is a critical role for a detail-oriented self-starter who is eager to dive into the analytical side of beauty retail and identify new opportunities for category expansion.

Requirements

  • 4-year undergraduate degree required
  • 0-1 years of relevant experience in retail, buying, or e-commerce
  • Excellent computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and accuracy
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude and a team-player mentality
  • Ability to thrive in a high-velocity, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Support top-line sales growth and vendor collaboration by managing the end-to-end product assortment for the assigned category
  • Own the accuracy and optimization of the product catalog, including pricing, content, and images for the set-up and launch of new brands
  • Edit and refine brand pages for key vendors to ensure assortments highlight hero products and showcase "newness" effectively
  • Identify and lead optimization projects for product pages and attribution to maximize site conversion
  • Secure samples and gifts-with-purchase (GWPs) from vendors, partnering with marketing and planning teams to execute promotions
  • Provide executional support for buy plans, SKU audits, discontinued inventory management, and brand trainings
  • Analyze competitor performance and industry trends with a curious mindset to uncover white spaces and product opportunities
  • Maintain consistent vendor communication and provide administrative support for category meetings and sales reporting
