To assist in the supervision of a specific group of Building Attendant II in their performance of custodial maintenance tasks in university facilities according to a specific schedule and/or Team Cleaning procedures. Requirements

  • One year in building cleaning and custodial work.
  • Experience in the use of custodial equipment.
  • Class "C" operator's driver's license.
  • Provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence.
  • If not currently a Texas resident, obtain a Texas driver's license within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Nice To Haves

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • More than one year of cleaning and custodial experience and supervision of custodial work.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand work order, instructions, product labels, product directions and other written job materials.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of one or more Building Attendant II's and inspect completed work.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure correct and timely completion.
  • Provide employees with basic instructions and maintain clear two-way communication with others.
  • Prepare documents such as: key logs, security logs, time reports, FAMIS, first reports of injury, inspection reports, supply orders, absence documentation and training records.
  • Meet deadlines and perform complete and error-free work.
  • Timely notification of supervisor and management of concerns as indicated by leadership and when necessary, perform coaching and redirection of employees to meet expectations.
  • Ensure that services and event set-ups are delivered per instructions, schedule, and/or work order.
  • Conduct inspections of buildings, compliance with procedures and standards, and correctness of paperwork.
  • Document inspections and corrective actions (excluding discipline).
  • Ensure timely reporting, notification and follow-up of building maintenance and custodial issues.
  • Respond to customer complaints.
  • Abide by the work rules as described in employee orientations.
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, following uniform policy.
  • Be dependable and report to work on time.
  • Be cooperative, work effectively with others and independently.
  • Readily accept work assignments and supervision.
  • Regularly use PPE, safety shoes and safety equipment.
  • Perform all tasks within established safety guidelines as instructed, such as no lost time injuries.
  • Report unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
  • Report broken equipment and equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Safely operate custodial equipment.
  • Maintain valid Driver’s License and acceptable UT Driver’s rating.
  • Safely operate UT vehicles.
  • Secure buildings and rooms on schedule and/or after cleaning as appropriate.
  • Follow correct unlocking, locking and alarm procedures as instructed.
  • Follow key control/access card procedures and guidelines.
  • Carry UT ID at all times during work hours.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper security measures are followed by employees.
  • Report missing and lost equipment immediately.
  • Ensure all applicable exterior and interior doors are locked and secured, and alarms are set.
  • Ensure adherence to building and room unlocking and locking schedules, requests, and directives.
  • Ensure proper control of keys, access cards, and alarm codes.
  • Perform emergency cleaning.
  • Report repairs as needed.
  • Work events as requested.
  • Work as a backup for BAL.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
