About The Position

The Assistant Branch Manager assists the Branch Manager in the daily operation of staff, including preparing work schedules, assisting with bank balancing, conducting staff meetings, and addressing customer care and concerns. This role is responsible for delivering quality customer service through direct customer and prospect interaction and adherence to approved quality standards. The Assistant Branch Manager evaluates new and existing customer relationships, recommends appropriate bank products and services, and is accountable for achieving assigned monthly new account production goals. They work closely with the Branch Manager to motivate staff towards achieving retail and new account production targets and participate in an active sales environment, which may include in-store aisle prospecting and attending business development calls. This position also manages branch operations and staff in the absence of the Branch Manager, conducts training for new hires, and provides bank services to a diverse customer base, including a significant Spanish-speaking population. Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential, and other tasks as assigned by the manager may include opening/closing the branch.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Minimum of one year management/supervisory experience
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to effectively develop business opportunities
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain sound relationships with existing and potential customers
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership and organizational skills
  • Extensive cash handling experience
  • Experience working in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must successfully pass background investigation according to company policy
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work effectively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in business/management or related degree preferred
  • Banking experience preferred
  • Familiarity with banking laws and regulations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Attend business development calls, or other sales opportunities, with a member of management
  • Manage branch operations and staff, in the absence of a manager
  • Conduct training for new hires
  • Provide bank services to a diverse customer base, including a large Spanish speaking population

  • Complete other tasks as assigned by manager as needed to include, but not limited to, opening/closing branch
