About The Position

In order to continually provide our members with the highest level of service, Affinity FCU is seeking an experienced, results oriented and service focused Assistant Branch Manager to join our team of professionals at our branch location in Madison, NJ. Assistant Branch Managers are leaders who build and maintain positive relationships and are committed to excellence through attention to detail and accuracy. They respect differences within their teams and promote a collaborative team atmosphere while delivering superior sales and service to our members. The Assistant Branch Manager will work closely with the Branch Manager to help mentor and coach team members to promote individual growth. The Assistant Branch Manager is versatile, highly proficient and able to perform in multiple roles and capacities as business needs warrant. Provides expert knowledge, quality, and expedited service to all members and representatives handling more of the complex issues that arise. Works collaboratively with managers and assists with coaching & mentoring by providing training, support and guidance to their designated team.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of sales/service experience at a financial institution is required.
  • Management/supervisory experience is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Strong supervisory/leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated record of effective sales/service behaviors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others .
  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Affinity will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site (http://fedregistry.nationwidelicensingsystem.org ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
  • Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Affinity policies. The LO qualification requirements include meeting applicable financial responsibility, character, general financial fitness and criminal background standards. A current credit report will be used to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness, however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening, if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate employees and create a team atmosphere.
  • Acts as the “in charge” person in the absence of Branch Manager including closing and opening the of the Branch.
  • Handle supervisory level interactions which include difficult/irate members and extremely complex issues independently.
  • Identify and make recommendations to improve operational efficiency that enhance the member experience.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations by working cooperatively and jointly with other departments to provide quality and seamless member experience.
  • Will lead by example in all aspects of sales and member experience.
  • Perform with consistent accuracy, thoroughness and effectiveness.
  • Meet branch and individual sales goals.
  • Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving escalated complaints or disputes. Assist members with inquiries and solve problems in a professional and courteous manner answering member requests within 24 hours.
  • Attend ongoing training and seminars as appropriate.
  • Ability to collaborate and work as a team.
  • Able to assist members with all aspects of new account processing including savings, lending, and transactional accounts.
  • Expected to conduct in depth needs assessments at an expert level to uncover member needs and recommend appropriate products and services to enhance their financial well-being that meet the standards of the credit union’s guiding principles.
  • Follows-up with members to ensure satisfaction with products and services and to inquire about status of future member needs by following the onboarding process.
  • Identify the development needs of staff members in partnership with the Branch Manager; provide coaching and training to help staff members improve their knowledge, skills, and job proficiency.
  • Recommends, processes, and finalizes consumer loan applications along with ancillary products and services.
  • Able to utilize 1Source at a high level, understands 1Source expectations and is able to coach and track individual employee’s progress.
  • Is expected to assist the Branch Manager with projects and coaching as requested
  • Other duties as assigned.
