About The Position

The Kent School District is seeking an Assistant Boys Soccer coach for Mill Creek Middle School. This is a seasonal, stipend-based coaching position. The district's mission is to successfully prepare all students for their futures, and their vision is to produce graduates who are globally competitive learners, ready to excel in college, careers, and life through equitable access to high-quality academic, social, and applied learning. Requirements

  • Must be at least 19 years of age for assistant coaching positions.
  • Must possess a valid first aid and CPR card.
  • Must complete the KSD online application process including professional reference forms.
  • Must annually complete the WIAA general rules clinic.
  • Must annually complete the WIAA-approved rule clinic for the sport being coached.
  • Must annually complete KSD Vector Training requirements prior to the beginning of the sports season.
  • Must have successfully completed Concussion recognition and management with Return to Play Protocols training (renewed every three years).
  • Must have successfully completed Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness and Training (renewed every three years).
  • Must complete a school district-approved Coaching Principles training, or complete the NFHS Coaches Fundamentals Course, or attend all sessions of the WIAA Coaches School, or other approved Coaches School before the beginning of the third year of coaching (repeated every three years).

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coaching the boys' soccer team.
  • Ensure compliance with district and WIAA requirements.
  • Complete required training and certifications.
  • Read and sign the KSD Coaches Manual if hired.
