About The Position

The assistant basketball coach helps facilitate all aspects of the program while aligning with the varsity team’s standards and the athletic department’s goals. Collaboration is fundamental to the program’s success. The assistant coach works with head coaches on daily practices, teaching fundamentals, game-day strategy, and evaluating student-athletes to prepare them for competition. The role also supports team discipline, academic accountability, character development, parent communication, player safety, policy enforcement, and program logistics.

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of basketball.
• Successfully pass a drug screen.
• Successfully obtain fingerprint clearance.
• Possess or be able to obtain a First Aid Card.
• Possess or be able to obtain an OSAA Coaching Certificate.

Nice To Haves

• High school coaching experience preferred.
