About The Position

Responsible for the overall purchasing, inventory, and distribution of athletic equipment for all student-athletes and coaches. Employees hired into Intermittent positions are limited to working no more than 720 hours per fiscal year. Salary Grade: 16. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Sports Administration, Business Administration, Management or related field with three (3) year of experience in related field.
  • Commercial Driver’s License eligible; must be certified by AEMA or working towards certification.
  • Ability to work long and irregular hours.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion.
  • Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. with one to the point of being objectionable.
  • Injuries may require professional treatment.
  • Job frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping/kneeling/ crouching/ crawling. Talking. Hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Job occasionally requires climbing or balancing, and lifting more than 100 pounds.
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees day-to-day operation of the equipment room(s) to include supervision of full time assistants, fellows/graduate assistants, and student managers.
  • Responsible for creation and management of department budget, including unit operating budget and apparel provider contractual allocation.
  • Advise and assist in the ordering of Adidas apparel and purchasing of other necessary equipment for all sports and departments.
  • Oversee Athletic Department shipping and receiving and maintain detailed inventory records for all equipment and Adidas apparel.
  • Assist in management of promotional contracts with equipment and jersey manufacturers.
  • Complies with all applicable National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) regulations in the performance of job duties.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
