About The Position

The Athletic Director administers and supervises the athletic program and provides leadership for the day-to-day operation of the athletic department. The role promotes participant safety and equality among athletes and programs, coordinates athletic events and related logistics, monitors student eligibility, maintains inventory, and evaluates coaches with the school principal. The position is a 12-month, exempt role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of successful coaching experience.
• Eligible for a Maryland Teaching License.
• Must hold Registered Athletic Administration licensure (RAA).
• Evidence of exemplary human relations skills.
• Evidence of commitment to high standards of ethics and sportsmanship.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct athletic programs while implementing sound fiscal policies.

Responsibilities

• Administer and supervise the athletic program.
• Provide leadership for the day-to-day operation of the athletic department.
• Promote the safety of all athletic participants.
• Ensure equality among athletes and programs.
• Work with the principal to fill coaching staff vacancies.
• Coordinate and participate in preparation for events.
• Determine and monitor student eligibility.
• Coordinate officials, schedules, and transportation for athletic events.
• Maintain inventory.
• Evaluate head and assistant coaches with the school principal.
• Perform other duties assigned by the school principal.
