About The Position

The Department of Psychology, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an assistant or associate professor with a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience/Biological Psychology . Preference will be given to candidates with a research focus in 1) substance use disorders, 2) memory and cognition, 3) applied psychology, or 4) health psychology. The selected candidate will be expected to provide student centered teaching and instruction of undergraduate courses in their discipline. They will also teach graduate level courses for the MS in Health Psychology and the PhD in Applied Psychology in courses aligned with their area of expertise. Faculty in this role are expected to contribute to student advising, mentoring, curriculum development, and engage in program assessment. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) establish and sustain a strong, externally-funded research program aligned with their field of expertise; (ii) produce an excellent record of scholarly publications; (iii) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in undergraduate and graduate psychology courses; (iv) supervise and support psychology students in independent research projects; and (v) engage in service at the department, college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. in any area of Psychology or other closely related Psychology sub-disciplines, at the time of appointment.
