About The Position

The School of Nursing at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a Medical-Surgical Nursing faculty position in the Undergraduate Prelicensure Program. The position is full-time and 12 months, and teaching may also take place in the Graduate Program as needed. It is not remote. Faculty may choose different emphases among teaching, service, and scholarship based on rank.

The successful candidate will bring knowledge and insights from their area of specialization; communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners; perform assigned professional duties; provide effective instruction, academic support, and guidance to prelicensure nursing students; engage in scholarship and research; and demonstrate academic growth. Candidates with Medical-Surgical Nursing expertise are encouraged to apply. Acute care or critical care experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in nursing by the time employment begins.
• Current clinical skills.
• Unencumbered Alabama RN license or Multistate RN License.

Nice To Haves

• Doctorate degree, or doctorate degree conferred by the date of hire.
• Teaching experience in a baccalaureate nursing program.
• Certification in a clinical specialty.
• Acute care or critical care experience.
• Expertise in Medical-Surgical Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the Undergraduate Prelicensure Program, with possible teaching in the Graduate Program as needed.
• Provide effective instruction, academic support, and guidance to prelicensure nursing students.
• Perform assigned professional duties and communicate professionally with students, faculty, staff, and clinical partners.
• Engage in scholarship and research and demonstrate academic growth.
• Contribute to teaching, service, and scholarship according to the emphasis selected based on rank.
