About The Position

Alvernia University’s College of Innovation, Discovery, and Enterprise invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Forensic Science to begin in the Fall 2027 semester. The successful candidate will contribute expertise in one or more areas of forensic science, such as forensic toxicology, forensic chemistry, forensic biology, criminalistics, or another area of forensic science through undergraduate teaching, curriculum development, scholarly activity, and student mentoring. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the continued development of the University’s Forensic Science program and its pursuit of FEPAC accreditation, with the potential to assume a leadership role, including serving as Program Director.

Requirements

  • Hold a minimum of a master’s degree (or equivalent) in forensic science or in a discipline appropriate to a forensic science area offered by the program, along with a minimum of five years of full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional experience in forensic science; OR
  • Hold a doctorate in forensic science or a discipline appropriate to a forensic science area offered by the program.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship from the University.

  • Experience working in a forensic science laboratory or other professional forensic science setting
  • Experience developing forensic science curricula or programs
  • Evidence of scholarly activity or potential for scholarly activity in the candidate’s area of expertise
