About The Position

The University of Miami (UM) School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS) seeks qualified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) faculty for a full-time position at the Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical rank. This role is critical to maintaining the quality and continuity of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMHNP) program. As enrollment continues to grow, this role will support the expansion of clinical and didactic education, student advising, and program development within the psychiatric mental health specialty. Requirements

  • PhD, DNP, Doctoral Degree in Nursing or Masters in Nursing (MSN required)
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Current and active APRN and RN license (or eligibility for licensure in Florida prior to start)
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive clinical experience in psychiatric mental health settings

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching, precepting, or mentoring in graduate nursing education preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct didactic, simulation, and clinical teaching and provide academic and clinical advising to students in the PMHNP program
  • Support curriculum delivery and participate in the development and evaluation of courses and program outcomes
  • Collaborate in scholarship and research activities and contribute to peer-reviewed publications as appropriate
  • Participate in community and academic service, including maintaining and expanding clinical partnerships
  • Guide and mentor students in scholarly projects and clinical training experiences
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the PMHNP program as an active faculty member
