About The Position

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks candidates for the position(s) of Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics-Pulmonology in the Department of Pediatrics. The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is a regional campus of one of the largest public medical schools in the United States, known for its small class sizes and exceptional faculty mentorship, allowing students to excel under a rigorous curriculum. In collaboration with its hospitals and clinical partners, UICOMP Faculty members provide care to more than 45,000 patients each year and contribute to medical education and training for more than 260 students, and more than 300 physician residents and fellows annually. UICOMP healthcare partners include Jump Simulation, OSF Saint Medical Center, OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois and Carle Hearth Greater Peoria. UICOMP is also part of an R1 research institute with translational research focusing on Alzheimer dementia and oncology. This position is intended to be eligible for benefits.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Illinois
  • Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics
  • Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology
  • 3 years Pediatric Residency/3 years Fellowship-Pediatric Pulmonology

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Sleep Medicine is preferred but not required.
  • Clinical teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • To be an active part of our existing pulmonary team.
  • Professional components include clinical, educational and scholar activities.
  • Provide care, diagnostic and treatment services to children with pulmonary conditions.
  • To contribute to the educational programs and activities for medical students and residents in relation to pediatric pulmonology.
  • Maintain a spirit of inquiry and scholarship in the activities of the pulmonology service.
  • Rotate WEEKEND pediatric pulmonary calls with other APNs and physicians.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
