About The Position

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks candidates for the position(s) of Assistant/Associate/Professor of Clinical Pediatrics/Physician/Surgeon/Psychiatry in the Department of Pediatrics. The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is a regional campus of one of the largest public medical schools in the United States, known for its small class sizes and exceptional faculty mentorship. UICOMP Faculty members provide care to over 45,000 patients annually and contribute to medical education and training for over 260 students and more than 300 physician residents and fellows annually. UICOMP healthcare partners include Jump Simulation, OSF Saint Medical Center, OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, and Carle Hearth Greater Peoria. UICOMP is also part of an R1 research institute with translational research focusing on Alzheimer dementia and oncology. This position is intended to be eligible for benefits.

Requirements

MD/DO degree
Eligible for licensure in Illinois
Board Certified in Psychiatry
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Responsibilities

Participate in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programs of the Department.
Provide outpatient diagnostic and management services for patients in the region with general psychiatric and behavioral needs.
Provide inpatient psychiatric consultation for children and adolescents.
Organize and conduct research programs in Child Psychiatry.
Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
