About The Position

The University of Lynchburg, a private, regional university, is seeking an Assistant or Associate Professor for its Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL) program. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track position. The ideal candidate will have expertise in government and public leadership, a passion for teaching and mentoring doctoral students, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The DEL program aims to prepare experienced professionals to be ethical, strategic, and transformative leaders. The faculty member will be involved in curriculum development, program growth, and supporting a diverse student body of working professionals.

Requirements

A PhD or EdD with 18 graduate credit hours in Doctor of Executive Leadership, Government Policy, or related field is required; ABD candidates will be considered.
Previous teaching experience is desired.

Responsibilities

Teach graduate courses in the Doctor of Executive Leadership program
Supervise and mentor student research projects
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development
Apply best practices to facilitate online teaching and learning processes
Document student learning, interpret outcomes, and record grades
Assist with student recruitment, admission, and retention
Maintain accurate and appropriate student, instructor, course, and program documentation
Establish and maintain professional and ethical boundaries
Participate in University service and events
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean
