The Department of Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC), in conjunction with the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, is seeking a full-time Academic Medical Oncologist with an interest in breast and genitourinary cancers. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment with an academic position description of Clinician Investigator, Clinician Teacher or Clinician-in-Quality and Innovation at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. The successful applicant will have a demonstrated record of academic excellence appropriate to their academic position description. Candidates pursuing a Clinician Investigator appointment will be assessed by the presence of research grants, publications in leading journals, invited presentations at conferences, awards, and other related accomplishments. Candidates pursuing a Clinician in Quality and Innovation appointment must have advanced training in quality improvement or innovation together with evidence of scholarship, such as peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or awards. Candidates pursuing a Clinician Teacher appointment must demonstrate advanced training and achievement in teaching through a strong educational portfolio, teaching awards, curriculum development, or education scholarship. The OCC is part of SHSC, a University of Toronto fully-affiliated site, and is one of the largest comprehensive cancer centres in the country, with activities that span the spectrum of cancer control. The OCC is a leader in patient care, clinical trials, patient and professional education. It also has strong collaborative links with basic scientists at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. Based at the Sunnybrook campus, 2075 Bayview Avenue, Toronto, this position is funded under an Alternative Payment Plan through the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
