About The Position

This role is responsible for increasing annual gifts from undergraduate alumni, parents, and friends capable of gifts greater than $1,000 and up to $24,999 to Boston College through personal outreach, with the goal of increasing annual, unrestricted, current-use cash. The Assistant Director manages a portfolio of prospective donors and premium seat holders and is expected to meet specific goals for contacts and completed solicitations. Additionally, the Assistant/Associate Director will help lead donor benefit fulfillment, including but not limited to premium seating, parking, and tickets, as well as database management and general support for inquiries made through the main line and team channels. The Assistant/Associate Director will work with the Assistant Athletics Director to develop and support a comprehensive strategy in alignment with Athletics Development team goals, including annual giving, development operations, and other duties as assigned. This position includes significant weekends and evening responsibilities. Local and regional travel will be determined by the portfolio and goals set by team leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • At the Assistant Director level, a minimum of one year’s experience in college athletics, a higher education advancement-related position, or related field required.
  • At the Associate Director (Level 1): Minimum two years’ experience in college athletics, a higher education advancement-related position, or related field required.
  • Proven experience closing gifts in the $1,000 - $10,000 range (for Associate Director Level 1).
  • At the Associate Director (Level 2): Minimum three years’ experience in college athletics, a higher education advancement-related position, or related field required.
  • Proven experience closing gifts in the $10,000 - $25,000 range (for Associate Director Level 2).
  • Frequent evening and weekend work is required.
  • Attendance at all home football games (6) is required.
  • Attendance at select basketball and hockey games (30+) will also be necessary.
  • Attendance at periodic special events is required.
  • A valid Massachusetts driver’s license is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak and write persuasively about higher education and the Jesuit tradition.
  • Proficiency with technology and relevant software applications, such as Google Mail (Gmail), MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a team player who is highly motivated and dedicated to the goals of advancing higher education.
  • Must have an appreciation for Jesuit Catholic education and the goals and values of Boston College.
