About The Position

The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store or stores. The role uses tools to minimize company loss, including identifying theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring physical security, auditing Electronic Article Surveillance, and promoting a shrink-elimination culture.

The specialist prepares accurate, detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserves evidence, interacts with law enforcement, and may testify in criminal and civil court actions. The position also requires reporting hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and performing responsibilities in a way that minimizes injury risk to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company. The specialist demonstrates integrity, responds to asset protection and operational concerns, and remains focused on store-specific business objectives.
