About The Position

Wegmans is seeking an independent, task-oriented Asset Protection Specialist who can build strong relationships throughout the store while keeping customer service top of mind. The role supports store security and helps communicate between the Asset Protection team and store leadership. It focuses on keeping customers and employees safe, implementing asset protection strategies, reducing shrink, and responding to incidents and emergencies.

Requirements

At least 2 years of related work experience.
Proven ability to effectively resolve problems and manage conflict.
Ability to use good judgment and make difficult decisions that affect the safety and well-being of others.
Ability to maintain effective communication and composure in a stressful environment.
Technical aptitude, including advanced computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Valid driver's license.
Must be 18 years or older.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related degree.
Military, security, loss prevention, corrections, or asset protection experience.
Experience as a first responder and/or Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Partner with management to implement asset protection strategies that drive sales and reduce shrink; analyze trends, benchmarks, and data.
Execute safety programs to ensure a safe, positive environment for customers and employees.
Build relationships with community organizations and emergency responders to enhance safety awareness.
Monitor customers, vendors, and employees to prevent loss; investigate and process shoplifting incidents.
Respond to emergencies and provide ongoing support and guidance to employees and customers.
