About The Position

This role drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, and cleanliness. It involves leading and developing teams through teaching, training, and feedback, while also overseeing stocking, merchandise displays, and securing high-shrink merchandise. The position requires modeling exceptional customer service, managing customer issues, and developing action plans for improvement. The role includes conducting operational and inventory reviews, identifying improvement opportunities, and training managers and associates on operational controls. Furthermore, it involves investigating violations of company policies and criminal activities, gathering evidence, and providing testimony. The position also monitors safety and risk controls, ensuring an effective safety program, identifying accident trends, and providing training on accident prevention. It manages facility-level training for asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures, ensuring proper policies are followed and claims are processed timely. The role requires coordinating and completing job-related activities, maintaining stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with company policies and values. Requirements

  • Completion of 2 years of college.
  • Option 2: 1 year’s experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 3: 1 year’s experience in accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 4: 2 years’ experience in asset protection or related area.
  • Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection (e.g., minimum age, specialized training, certification and/or licensing).
  • If applicable, acquisition of a current, state issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • If applicable, successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Drives sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation (accurate pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, cleanliness, stocking, merchandise displays, securing high-shrink merchandise).
  • Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, listening, providing feedback, and communicating business objectives.
  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service, manages customer issues, and develops action plans for improvement.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates (hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognition).
  • Controls unexplained loss of merchandise and improves profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives.
  • Builds accountability for policies and procedures, measures adherence to loss prevention policies, and reviews variances.
  • Conducts operational and pre-inventory reviews, gathers data, audits results, and monitors deficiency trends.
  • Identifies improvement opportunities and works with managers and associates to determine corrections needed for inventory controls.
  • Influences the implementation and execution of control corrections and trains managers and associates on operational controls and processes.
  • Detects, deters, investigates, and resolves violations of company policies and criminal activities.
  • Gathers evidence, takes statements, writes case reports, and provides court room testimony as needed.
  • Monitors safety and risk controls within a facility by ensuring an effective safety program is in place.
  • Supervises safety team members, identifies accident trends, and develops/implements solutions to prevent accidents.
  • Observes workplace practices and provides training to associates on accident prevention techniques.
  • Communicates plans to minimize accidents and oversees safety reviews.
  • Manages facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, claims, and receiving procedures.
  • Reviews the application of policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines (e.g., cold chain, hazardous materials, operational controls).
  • Identifies gaps in expectations versus training and determines training needs.
  • Develops and delivers training as needed.
  • Manages claims and receiving operations by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensures the timely processing of claims (e.g., damaged, defective, returned, liquidated items) and merchandise deliveries.
  • Provides direction for claims or receiving issues and maintains necessary documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifies and communicates goals and objectives, and builds accountability.
  • Measures progress in achieving results, identifies and addresses improvement opportunities, and demonstrates adaptability.
  • Promotes continuous learning and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans.
