This role focuses on detecting, deterring, and resolving violations of company policies and criminal activities through investigations. It involves monitoring safety and risk controls within a facility, managing training for asset protection and safety functions, and overseeing claims and receiving procedures. A key aspect is controlling merchandise loss and improving profitability through various reviews and audits. Requirements

  • Meets applicable state requirements to work in Asset Protection, such as minimum age, specialized training, certification, and/or licensing.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
  • For facilities that sell firearms, the position requires successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, the position may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Certification in an asset protection related field (e.g., Loss Prevention Qualified, Loss Prevention Certified).
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
  • Investigative experience.

Responsibilities

  • Detects, deters, and investigates violations of company policies and criminal activities.
  • Monitors safety and risk controls within a facility and supervises the safety team.
  • Manages facility-level training for asset protection, safety functions, claims, and receiving procedures.
  • Ensures proper policies and procedures are followed for claims and receiving operations.
  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates.
  • Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing profit and loss statements and managing expenses.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, and mentoring.
  • Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and providing feedback.
  • Controls the unexplained loss of merchandise and improves profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives.
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Builds high-performing teams, embraces differences, and creates a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected.
