The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for observing activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity, collecting investigative evidence utilizing CCTV and observations from the sales floor. This role follows AP Directives and Company policy when making apprehensions and executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft, properly documenting all stages. The associate will conduct external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft, report suspected fraud and infractions of company policy, and create and manage records for reporting apprehensions, witness statements, evidence retention, and merchandise recovery. Additionally, the associate will collect evidence and/or monitor associate activity for internal investigations as directed by Asset Protection leadership, proactively identify potential theft and fraud, investigate suspicious behavior, attend court hearings as required, and analyze intelligence on individuals and groups involved in theft. The role also supports a safety culture by communicating shrinkage and safety topics, identifying and correcting potential hazards, providing emergency response, assisting with incident investigations, and coaching associates on hazard reduction. The Asset Protection Associate must consistently meet established performance standards for the role.
