The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for observing activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity, collecting investigative evidence utilizing CCTV and observations from the sales floor, and following AP Directives and Company policy when making apprehensions. This role executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft, and properly documents all stages. The associate conducts external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft, reports suspected fraud and infractions of company policy, and creates and manages records for reporting apprehensions, witness statements, evidence retention, and merchandise disposition. The role also involves collecting evidence and/or monitoring associate activity for internal investigations as directed by Asset Protection leadership, and proactively identifying potential acts of theft and fraud. Additionally, the associate investigates suspicious behavior, attends court hearings as required, maintains relationships with law enforcement, and analyzes intelligence on individuals and groups involved in theft. The role also supports a safety culture by coaching associates, identifying and correcting hazards, providing emergency response, assisting with incident investigations, and supporting stores during critical incidents.
