The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for observing activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity, and collecting investigative evidence utilizing CCTV and observations from the sales floor. This role follows AP Directives and Company policy when making apprehensions and executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft, properly documenting all stages. The associate will conduct external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft, report suspected fraud and infractions of company policy, and create and manage records for reporting apprehensions, witness statements, evidence retention, and merchandise disposition. Additionally, the associate will collect evidence and/or monitor associate activity for internal investigations as directed by Asset Protection leadership, and proactively identify potential acts of theft and fraud. The role also involves investigating suspicious behavior, attending court hearings, maintaining relationships with law enforcement, analyzing intelligence on theft perpetrators, supporting a safety culture, aiding in morning meetings to communicate shrinkage and safety topics, identifying and correcting potential hazards, providing emergency or critical incident response, assisting with incident investigations, and potentially assisting with Asset Protection audits. The associate will also coach associates on maintaining safe work areas and support stores during critical incidents.
