The Asset Protection Associate is responsible for observing activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity, collecting investigative evidence utilizing CCTV and observations from the sales floor. This role follows AP Directives and Company policy when making apprehensions and executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft, properly documenting all stages. The associate will conduct external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft, report suspected fraud and infractions of company policy, and create and manage records for reporting apprehensions, witness statements, evidence retention, and merchandise disposition. Additionally, the role involves investigating associate activity as needed for internal investigations and serving as an interview witness, proactively identifying potential theft and fraud, investigating suspicious behavior, attending court hearings, and analyzing intelligence on individuals and groups involved in theft. The associate also supports a safety culture by communicating shrinkage and safety topics, identifying and correcting hazards, providing emergency response, assisting with incident investigations, and coaching associates on maintaining safe work areas. This role requires meeting established performance standards for service, productivity, and attendance.
