About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate position is responsible for supporting facility security, employee health and safety, and environmental protection. This role involves monitoring access control, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting audits, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The associate will also be involved in data analysis, training delivery, and process improvement initiatives to maintain operational excellence and uphold company values.

Requirements

• 6 months experience as a Walmart associate OR 1 year's work experience or coursework in criminal justice, loss prevention/asset protection, safety, compliance, or security-related field (for example, Military, Public Safety, Compliance, Criminal Justice).

Responsibilities

• Supports facility security staff and monitors/maintains access control equipment.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA guidelines, safety, and food safety auditing processes, and regulatory inspection processes.
• Supports the implementation of relevant industry-specific and OSHA guidelines.
• Highlights business risks associated with employee health and safety issues to facility management.
• Addresses employee health and safety issues within the assigned scope of responsibility.
• Maintains a directory of emergency response personnel and summons emergency services as necessary.
• Conducts compliance safety and food safety audits and reviews, including daily audits of buildings and food safety audits.
• Creates audit reports.
• Acts as an associate interface for workers' compensation issues, obtains necessary records, and analyzes/reports on claims requiring settlement.
• Owns the delivery of project activity and tasks assigned by others.
• Supports process updates and changes.
• Solves simple business issues and demonstrates functional knowledge of the business unit/organization being supported.
• Gathers and interprets data, information, and content in a digital environment.
• Analyzes and creates reports using existing models/templates.
• Leverages technology to execute transactional activities.
• Reviews data across systems to ensure completeness and applies data quality checks.
• Suggests tasks that can be automated using technology (e.g., robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, cloud-based applications).
• Supports the activities of instructors or learning facilitators in training programs.
• Manages systematic approaches to solicit feedback from training participants.
• Utilizes the organization's training lifecycles and methodologies to support training initiatives.
• Maintains repositories of benchmarks and best practices of training delivery.
• Explains relevant processes and procedures to contractors.
• Organizes thoughts and communicates credibly and concisely within the scope of work.
