About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate supports the store in achieving shortage-reduction metrics by assisting with investigations and helping identify and prevent internal and external asset-protection incidents. The role promotes knowledge of store policies and helps ensure the effective execution of action plans, security procedures, and safety programs. This is an hourly, full-time position at SouthPark Mall.

Requirements

Retail or asset protection experience and dedication to customer service.

Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Comfort with technology, including smartphones, tablet computers, and Windows-based operating systems.
Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to regularly move throughout all store areas and remain accessible to customers.
Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for product, and to lift, carry, and move at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate ownership and initiative in achieving personal goals, store objectives, and daily priorities.
Monitor store activity through observation, camera systems, and floor walks to identify and prevent theft, fraud, and dishonesty.
Assist with internal, external, and organized retail crime incidents in accordance with case procedures, company standards, and applicable laws; follow apprehension protocols and document and report incidents accurately.
Support leadership by retrieving and reviewing documentation and reports used in investigations.
Build working relationships with local law enforcement to support collaboration and case resolution.
Help educate the store team on asset protection, emergency response, and safety programs.
Promptly report outages, risks, and safety concerns involving store systems.
Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information while demonstrating composure.
Use training tools and resources, apply feedback, and build knowledge of asset protection processes and procedures.
Stay informed about products, promotions, policies, and store events to support effective execution.
Protect company profitability and contribute to a store culture of teamwork, collaboration, trust, and accountability.
