About The Position

The Asset Protection Associate plays a crucial role in supporting facility security, monitoring access control, and ensuring employee health and safety. This position requires knowledge of asset protection policies, environmental health and safety laws, and OSHA guidelines. The associate will be responsible for supporting facility security staff, monitoring and maintaining access control equipment, and implementing health and safety protocols. They will also be involved in conducting audits, managing workers' compensation issues, and collaborating with various stakeholders. Data literacy and the ability to leverage technology for reporting and transactional activities are essential. Additionally, the role involves delivering EHS training, communicating effectively, and participating in process improvement initiatives. Environmental protection and operational excellence are key aspects of this position, ensuring compliance with regulations and adherence to company standards.

Requirements

• 6 months experience as a Walmart associate OR 1 year's work experience or coursework in criminal justice, loss prevention/asset protection, safety, compliance, or security-related field (for example, Military, Public Safety, Compliance, Criminal Justice)

Responsibilities

• Supports facility security staff
• Monitors and maintains access control equipment
• Accesses organizational resources to address business-specific health and safety hazards
• Supports the implementation of relevant industry-specific and OSHA guidelines
• Highlights business risks associated with employee health and safety issues to facility management
• Addresses employee health and safety issues within assigned scope of responsibility
• Maintains a directory of emergency response personnel and summons emergency services as necessary
• Conducts compliance safety and food safety audits and reviews
• Conducts daily audits of buildings and food safety audits
• Creates audit reports
• Acts as an associate interface for workers' compensation issues
• Obtains necessary records
• Analyzes and reports on claims that may require settlement
• Owns the delivery of project activity and tasks assigned by others
• Supports process updates and changes
• Solves simple business issues
• Gathers and interprets data, information, and content in a digital environment
• Analyzes and creates reports using existing models/templates
