Thurston County Public Works is recruiting for an Asset Management Specialist 2 to join their dynamic, energetic, and innovative team. The successful candidate will have the ability to create and manage GIS data, use maintenance history data to produce reports for management level staff, and work directly with field staff to create and configure solutions to meet their day-to-day needs. The selected candidate will facilitate implementation of the Public Works Asset Management Program for multiple operating and engineering divisions. This position is considered to be an essential worker and may be required to work during non-business hours or closures in order to meet operational requirements and needs. The work environment is office settings on the Tilley campus, with some field work across Thurston County. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. during the probationary period, with potential options for alternative schedules after the probationary period. Workload demands may occasionally require work outside the assigned work hours. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings or trainings. There are daily interactions via phone, in-person, and video with Thurston County staff and the public.
