Mach Industries•Huntington Beach, CA
•$150,000 - $180,000•Onsite

About The Position

Mach Industries is seeking an experienced and hands-on Asset Maintenance Lead to lead the maintenance, reliability, and uptime of critical manufacturing equipment across our operations. This role will have a strong focus on CNC machining equipment and advanced manufacturing assets, including equipment from manufacturers such as DMG MORI, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, DN Solutions/Doosan, and similar OEMs. The Asset Maintenance Lead will be responsible for developing and executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, troubleshooting equipment failures, coordinating OEM and third-party service providers, managing spare parts, and improving overall equipment reliability. This is a highly hands-on position. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly on manufacturing equipment, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, EHS, and Operations to keep production assets safe, reliable, and available.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing equipment maintenance, CNC maintenance, machine-tool service, or a related technical field.
  • Strong hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting CNC machining equipment.
  • Experience with one or more major CNC/machine-tool manufacturers such as DMG MORI, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, DN Solutions/Doosan, or similar equipment.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including bearings, spindles, ball screws, linear guides, lubrication systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and cooling systems.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, and machine control systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and OEM technical documentation.
  • Experience developing or executing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Experience working with a CMMS or other maintenance/work-order management platform.
  • Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout and industrial equipment safety practices.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot equipment failures in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work safely around industrial machinery and manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and components associated with normal maintenance activities and work in standing, kneeling, climbing, or other positions as required.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance or CNC/machine-tool maintenance experience.
  • Previous experience as a CNC Field Service Technician, Maintenance Lead, Senior Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
  • OEM-specific training or certifications from DMG MORI, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or similar manufacturers.
  • Experience troubleshooting Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or similar CNC controls.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls.
  • Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining centers, CNC lathes, mill-turn machines, or other advanced machine tools.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing environments within aerospace, defense, automotive, precision machining, or other high-reliability industries.
  • Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis, or condition monitoring.
  • Experience building maintenance and spare-parts programs in a rapidly growing manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical, mechanical, machining, HVAC, or industrial maintenance trade certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for CNC machines and other critical manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, lubrication, cooling, and controls-related equipment failures.
  • Support CNC equipment from manufacturers such as DMG MORI, Haas, Mazak, Okuma, DN Solutions/Doosan, and comparable OEMs.
  • Diagnose equipment faults, alarms, abnormal operating conditions, and recurring failures.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, alignments, calibrations, inspections, and OEM service activities.
  • Support installation, commissioning, relocation, and startup of new or relocated manufacturing equipment.
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing teams during equipment modifications and upgrades.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of machine requirements, including compressed air, electrical power, cooling, exhaust, lubrication, and other supporting utilities.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs for critical production assets.
  • Establish maintenance frequencies based on OEM requirements, equipment criticality, operating hours, failure history, and production demands.
  • Drive equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime through proactive maintenance and root-cause analysis.
  • Track equipment failures and identify recurring reliability issues.
  • Develop corrective actions for chronic equipment problems.
  • Support development and tracking of equipment reliability metrics, including uptime, downtime, PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and repeat failures.
  • Establish equipment criticality rankings and maintenance priorities based on production and operational risk.
  • Maintain accurate asset records within the company's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Develop equipment hierarchies, PM schedules, work orders, maintenance procedures, and asset histories.
  • Ensure maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment downtime are properly documented.
  • Maintain equipment manuals, drawings, service records, warranties, and OEM documentation.
  • Develop and maintain critical spare-parts inventories for high-value and production-critical equipment.
  • Identify long-lead or high-risk replacement components and establish appropriate stocking strategies.
  • Serve as a primary technical resource for manufacturing equipment breakdowns.
  • Respond to urgent production equipment failures and coordinate recovery efforts.
  • Perform systematic troubleshooting to identify root causes rather than relying solely on component replacement.
  • Coordinate with OEM technical support and third-party service providers when specialized expertise is required.
  • Develop escalation procedures for critical equipment failures that may impact production schedules.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with company EHS requirements.
  • Follow and reinforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements when servicing energized or potentially hazardous equipment.
  • Identify equipment hazards and partner with EHS and Engineering to implement appropriate controls.
  • Verify appropriate machine guarding, interlocks, emergency stops, and safety systems remain functional following maintenance activities.
  • Support safe electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and stored-energy maintenance practices.
  • Participate in equipment-related incident investigations and corrective actions when required.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for equipment OEMs, service technicians, and maintenance vendors.
  • Coordinate service calls, preventive maintenance visits, repairs, and warranty work.
  • Review vendor scopes, service recommendations, and repair proposals.
  • Track vendor performance, equipment service agreements, and maintenance costs.
  • Develop relationships with critical equipment manufacturers and local service providers to improve response times.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to maintenance technicians and other operations personnel.
  • Establish maintenance standards, troubleshooting procedures, and equipment-specific work instructions.
  • Help develop the long-term maintenance organization as Mach's manufacturing footprint expands.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, EHS, Quality, and Operations leadership.
  • Support training and knowledge transfer related to equipment operation, basic troubleshooting, and operator-level maintenance.
