Asset Protection Lead
About The Position
The Asset Protection Lead monitors the workplace through patrols, cameras, or other surveillance methods for safety and access issues. This role takes action relative to internal theft or violation of regulations and assists in creating theft prevention plans. The Lead may prepare written reports, preserve evidence, and represent the company in court. This role involves supervising the asset protection team, managing schedules, ensuring staff training, overseeing access control systems, monitoring inventory, coordinating audits, utilizing CCTV, investigating losses, assisting with merchandise shortage and fraud issues, maintaining partnerships within the store, providing security recommendations, completing reports, adhering to company policies, attending court proceedings, and coaching asset protection staff.
Requirements
- High School Degree or GED required
- 1-5 years of experience in Asset Protection, in a similar environment.
- Must be available to work rotating schedules, extra hours, days or shifts.
- Must have understanding of the English language both written and verbal. Must be able to communicate understanding of English during the interview process.
- Possess articulate verbal and written communication skills.
- Communicates in a timely and appropriate manner to all levels.
- Good computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent organizational and efficiency skills.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm in a team environment to deliver positive results.
- Must know how to distinguish between colors.
- Must be able to hear equipment and warning signals.
- Demonstrated understanding of working with computer based systems.
Responsibilities
- Supervise asset protection team’s execution of responsibilities for assigned locations.
- Manage scheduling of asset protection staff to provide coverage.
- Ensure that all asset protection staff members are appropriately trained as it relates to programs and relevant procedures specific to store location.
- Manage an effective access control system to ensure system performance and appropriate safeguards to minimize exposure to unauthorized personnel within the facility and property.
- Monitor all inbound and outbound inventory activities and procedures.
- Coordinate the completion of all asset protection-related audits, physical security, alarm tests, etc, and communicate findings to AP District Manager.
- Utilize and ensure all CCTV components are functional while providing appropriate levels of surveillance capability within the facility.
- Investigate instances of loss within the facility.
- Assist with resolving issues of merchandise shortage and fraud. Initiate investigations into internal and external theft and shortages.
- Maintain strong, positive partnerships within the store including management, vendors, and other teams.
- Provide as needed, recommendations to the management team to better secure the facility and minimize.
- Complete all accident, incident, and case-related reports in an accurate and timely manner in the AP tracking system.
- Adhere company policies and lead by example.
- Attend company-involved court proceedings, testifying if necessary.
- Coach asset protection staff members on best practices.
