About The Position

Plains is seeking an experienced Asset Integrity Engineer to join our Canadian Crude Oil Division’s Pipeline Integrity Team. This team plays a critical role in ensuring our pipeline and facility assets operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in pipeline and facility integrity management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian pipeline regulations and CSA Z662.
  • Hands-on experience with ILI technologies, non-destructive testing, and common pipeline damage mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in fitness-for-service, risk assessment, and hazard/threat management.
  • Ability to quickly absorb new information and apply it effectively.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-driven, growth-oriented mindset with a commitment to professional development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.
  • Clear background check and valid driver’s license with clean abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing in-line inspection (ILI) data (crack, corrosion, deformation) and develop annual integrity dig programs.
  • Performing and reviewing engineering assessments, including internal and third‑party analyses.
  • Interpreting depth-of-cover and class location assessments and recommending preventive and mitigative actions.
  • Providing technical guidance for pipeline assessments, non-destructive examinations, and repair strategies.
  • Defining inspection scopes and evaluating results for aboveground storage tanks and associated piping.
  • Recommending appropriate repair methods for tanks and facility piping.
  • Offering subject-matter expertise to Engineering, Technical Services, Regulatory, and other internal partners.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of integrity program activities, including internal corrosion monitoring and mitigation.
  • Supporting commercial initiatives such as asset acquisitions and reactivations.
  • Contributing to annual budgeting and long‑term integrity planning.
  • Ensuring processes and procedures are followed, documented, and continuously improved.
  • Mentoring team members and providing training on integrity-related topics.
