About The Position

The Asset Analyst coordinates water resources, water, and wastewater infrastructure data collection, analyzes asset information from several city departments, and brings it together to manage and inform operational and financial decisions related to city assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Asset Management, or a closely related field.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of relevant experience
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, ArcGIS, CMMS.
  • Understanding of asset management principles, lifecycle planning, and inventory tracking.
  • Ability to collect, organize, and interpret large volumes of data accurately.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to present findings and recommendations clearly.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance.
  • Project management and organizational skills to manage multiple assets and reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to create reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing asset performance and trends.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders to ensure accurate asset information.
  • Ability to identify inefficiencies or risks in asset management and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial and operational data.
  • Adaptability to new software, systems, and procedures as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in information Systems, Engineering, Asset Management, or a closely related field
  • Four (4) to eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Experience working within local government
  • ESRI Certified GIS Professional
  • CCWP Water/ Wastewater Certifications I-II
  • Experience in creating financial reports

Responsibilities

  • Implements asset management policies, procedures, and programs for City infrastructure in alignment with City goals, objectives, and industry best practices.
  • Collects, analyzes, and prioritizes asset data in collaboration with City departments to support annual maintenance, capital improvement planning, and long-term infrastructure investment.
  • Prepares and maintains asset management plans, including asset inventories and hierarchies, condition assessments, business risk evaluations, life-cycle cost analyses, and net-present value calculations.
  • Develops and monitors strategic programs to optimize asset performance and longevity; reports findings through life-cycle analyses and performance metrics to guide capital and operations funding.
  • Manages and enhances the CMMS asset management system, including data integrity, reporting functions, and vendor coordination; reviews asset reporting and work order processes for accuracy.
  • Provides leadership for a risk-based asset management program; ensures inspections and audits meet industry standards and trains staff on inspection and data collection activities.
  • Facilitates discussions regarding asset data, reporting, and mapping needs; supports staff with questions and startup activities related to the Asset Management Program.
  • Analyzes and improves existing processes to increase program efficiency and effectiveness; establishes and meets business and financial objectives.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
