About The Position

University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects. This is a temporary, staff, part-time, non-benefited position through 6/20/2027. Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance. Salary: $24.00 per hour. Location: Various Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Centers throughout San Bernardino and Riverside County; occasional meetings/trainings at CSUSB Campus.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program.
  • Satisfactory completed coursework in child psychology, child development, clinical counseling, or related field (e.g., social work, psychology, etc.) is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Display a professional manner.
  • Must be able to pass CLASS observation tool training and certification (provided).
  • Live Scan and background check upon conditional job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in child and family intervention or a related field is preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in child psychology, child development, clinical counseling, or related field (e.g., social work, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Using the CLASS Observation to conduct assessments at various childcare centers.
  • Observing a teacher/teachers in a classroom, recording and documenting these observations.
  • Utilizing the observations to provide feedback (scored and anecdotal) on the quality of the teacher(s) interactions with children.
  • Sharing feedback with a team of coaches, who use it to highlight the strengths of the classroom and provide opportunities to increase the quality of care.
  • Transportation required to school sites in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties.
