About The Position

The Assessor Coordinator Degree position is a full-time temporary role within the New Alcohol and Drug Initiatives - Project Hope department at Melfort Hospital. The role involves field hours and requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related Health Science or Social Science discipline. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in Mental Health and Addictions
  • Bachelor Degree in a related Health Science or Social Science discipline
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Communication skills including ability to provide educational presentations
  • Leadership skills such as engagement, communication, and team building
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate - Computer skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Knowledge of crisis and suicide intervention and prevention programs
  • Knowledge in serious psychiatric impacts and best practices for care
  • Knowledge of systems theory and human lifespan development
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, scheduling & training platforms
  • Knowledge of screening and addiction assessment tools and procedures
  • Knowledge of protocols and Legislation that related addictions and mental health
  • Knowledge in the SHA, community resources and applicable programming
  • Awareness of current Mental Health and Addictions issues
  • Ability to distinguish developmental, personality and behavioral functioning
  • Knowledge in evidence-based approaches for children, youth and families
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with multiple program areas
  • Ability to create a risk management plan with other health care providers
  • Ability to distinguish normal and abnormal emotional behavioral functioning
  • Sound knowledge of mental health and addictions theory
  • Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships
  • Applied knowledge of Psychiatric/Psychological Disorders with substance abuse
  • Apply ethical, culturally sensitive and legal principles in practice
  • Registered/eligible for registration with the appropriate licensing body
