About The Position

This is a Position Specific recruitment for the Worcester County Assessments & Taxation Office. The resulting eligible list will be used to fill positions at the specified location only. Recruitment is limited to current State Department of Assessments and Taxation employees only. The main purpose of this job is to be responsible for all clerical operations within the County Assessment Office, subject to the supervision of the Supervisor of Assessments.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Four years of clerical or technical experience in processing assessments records and forms.
  • Candidates may substitute additional experience performing general clerical duties on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required education.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in financial administration and program classification or financial administration and program specialty codes in the accounting and budget field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Interacts with the General Public in a timely and courteous manner, providing 97% accurate information, to the level and degree that time allows, following office guidelines and state regulations.
  • Adheres to the SDAT Customer Service Promise and related policies.
  • Responds to written correspondence within 2 days of receipt.
  • Trains all clerical staff to a level necessary for those employees to function in an efficient manner, following office guidelines and state regulations.
  • Delegates work to subordinates in a manner which produces the most efficient work flow, following office procedures and guidelines.
  • Evaluates subordinate employees fairly and in a manner designed to improve their performance, following PEP and office procedures and guidelines.
  • Assists Supervisor in the development and implementation of clerical office policy to best of his/her ability.
  • Completes other duties in a timely manner as defined by the Supervisor.
