About The Position

Heritage Oaks Hospital is seeking an Assessment & Referral Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. The Admissions Nurse is responsible for ensuring the admission process is carried out properly, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to established standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policy. This role ensures admissions are managed in a timely and courteous manner. The RN will conduct and document comprehensive assessments for patients to determine dispositions, participate in screening patients for admission into hospital programs using pre-approved criteria, and review referrals to determine appropriateness for admission based on hospital policy and procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
• Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
• Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
• CPR certification required.
• Successful completion of the hospital’s designated physical and behavioral management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, required prior to assisting in the procedures.

Nice To Haves

• A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.

Responsibilities
