About The Position

Lakeside Behavioral Health System, established in 1969, is a premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid-South region. The Needs Assessment and Referral Counselor (NARC) role involves providing telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention. Key responsibilities include being the initial point of contact for referral sources and potential patients, coordinating the referral and intake process, determining the appropriate level of care, facilitating the admission process, and maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. Requirements

  • Licensed Physician, APRN, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Registered Nurse, Master's in Social Work, Master's in Counseling, Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy, or Master's of Psychology.
  • Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to varied population of patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses Symptomology.
  • Knowledge of basic chemical dependency.
  • Knowledge of age specific growth and development.
  • Knowledge of crisis and behavior management.
