Requirements

Bachelor's Degree
Related Work Experience: 1 - 3 Years Required
Bachelor's level degree
Thorough knowledge of substance use disorders, detoxification, co-occurring disorders, and behavioral health treatment.
Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, and de-escalation skills.
Knowledge of ASAM Criteria and level of care determinations.
Knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, HIPPA, state licensing regulations, and behavioral health documentation standards.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong understanding of motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care.
Ability to prioritize multiple assessments and admissions while responding effectively during crisis situations.
Ability to effectively manage behavioral excalations and support staff during crisis situations.
Knowledge of patient supervision, safety monitoring, and incident reporting requirements.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Computer/Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

3 - 5 Years Preferred
Experience utilizing EMR and timekeeping software preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversees the daily workflow of the Assessment Department, coordinating assessments, admissions, detox intakes, and patient flow to ensure efficient operations.
Conducts comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, evaluates patients for appropriate level of care, and collaborates with providers regarding admission recommendations.
Coordinates admission documentation, consents, releases, and clinical records to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Provides crisis intervention, risk assessment, suicide assessments, behavioral de-escalation, and clinical support for assessment and detox patients while ensuring patient and staff safety.
Coordinates communication between providers, nursing, UM, and clinical staff to facilitate timely admissions and continuity of care.
Provides patient orientation, explains program expectation, patient rights, treatment processes, and facilitates a smooth transition into treatment services.
Reviews documentation for quality, accuracy, and timeliness while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, state, and payer requirements.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, policy development, and departmental process improvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
