The Admissions Coordinator serves as a liaison between Compass Intervention Center and referral sources, patients and families. The primary function of the Admissions Coordinator is to facilitate referrals between referring mobile crisis agencies, hospitals and other referral sources in support of the call center operations. Admissions Coordinator oversees the assessment, referral and admission activities of the department and provides telephonic and in person assessments, initial contact with referral sources and potential clients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care and maintains communication with referral sources, families, clients and unit staff. The Admission Coordinator help to create and maintain department procedures in the following areas: daily census records, inquiry calls and referrals phone log, and ensures that the level of treatment and clinical services is appropriate to all clients needs. Facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, clients and unit staff. Thorough and accurate documentation of calls and other admissions related paperwork is a critical component of the job.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or other related field.
  • Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Adequate knowledge regarding appropriate levels and focus of care as related to psychiatric, emotional, or behavioral problems is required.
  • Masters degree in Social Work or a Registered Nurse.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
