About The Position

Volt is immediately hiring for Assembly Workers in West Columbia, SC. This is a full-time opportunity with 1st and 2nd shifts available. The role involves reading work orders, following production drawings, and performing various assembly operations to join and secure parts. Responsibilities include crimping, staking, screwing, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, press fitting, mounting components, installing subassemblies, positioning parts, installing finished assemblies, attaching hardware, performing intermediate assembly tasks, tending machines, and performing go-not-go testing and inspection. The ideal candidate will have production or assembly experience, understand and use a variety of tools, have electronic and mechanical assembly experience, be able to read and comprehend instructions, operate machinery and computers, and possess excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Requirements

1 year or more of production or assembly experience
Understanding of and ability to use a wide variety of tools.
Electronic and Mechanical assembly experience
Ability to read and comprehend simple and complex instructions
Ability to operate machinery and computers.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
Mounts assembled components to boards or units utilizing torque screwdrivers and other hand tools.
May install multi-level subassemblies and modules into Racks using complex configurations.
Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture or other holding device.
Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs and switches, to assemblies.
Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating and color-coding parts and assemblies.
Tends machines that press, shape or wind component parts.
Performs online go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
Sets up station with the correct documents and components per assembly drawing.
Handles/install polarized/non-polarized components on designated location on product.
Able to read and understand blueprints.
