About The Position

The Assembly & Test Technician is responsible for performing assembly and test processes on aerospace hardware. This includes development of hardware, creating functional test setups, working with various high-pressure gases, and initiating engineering collaboration to successfully deliver quality aerospace components and systems. Technicians are responsible for communicating and coordinating with the Production Supervisor regarding specific production needs (part availability, equipment, production status, and schedule updates) to ensure on-time delivery. They will perform assembly and testing of production hardware within the confines of the systems and procedures and the certified operator system.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of relevant manufacturing/ mechanical experience or Military experience.
  • Previous experience using various hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma with Skilled Trade certification or Associates Degree.
  • 3 years of Aerospace Manufacturing or Assembly and Test experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts.
  • Able to follow work instructions and perform tasks without supervision.
  • Able to communicate effectively, manage time and adapt to various work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
  • Obtaining and maintaining Certified Operator Status including job specific training/certifications and ERP system data entry in accordance with site guidelines.
  • Possessing knowledge/experience with assembly and test requirements. Ability to evaluate mechanical systems, use of common assembly tools/measuring equipment.
  • Independently performing low and moderate complexity assembly and test operations following written instructions.
  • Performing low to moderate complexity product testing using test equipment while following written acceptance test documents.
  • Understanding product quality requirements and following non-conforming material processes. Reporting findings to the team and generating non-conforming hardware documentation.
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems, and able to troubleshoot low to moderate issues with minimal supervision.
  • Basic experience with ERP systems and standard Microsoft applications.
