About The Position

The Assembly Technician performs hands-on assembly of electronic and mechanical assemblies in a classified production environment within the Antenna Integration Factory at the McKinney, Texas site. Work includes production builds and development or prototype units, with direct collaboration with engineering on builds and rework tasks. The position is performed primarily onsite at seated workstations and standing positions, and may require occasional overtime. The technician follows detailed work instructions, photographs, engineering drawings, schematics, and related documentation. Daily work includes using a production tracking system, attending tier meetings for task assignments, obtaining parts kits and sub-assemblies, reviewing instructions, checking out calibrated torque tools, and gathering consumables. Tasks include inspecting parts and sub-assemblies, routing wires, mating connectors, installing brackets and sub-assemblies, applying thread-locking compound, and torquing fasteners to specification. Some assemblies are built using automated bonding machines. The role also performs rework by removing and replacing sub-assemblies on units that have failed testing. Technicians document each completed operation in the production system, inspect affected areas before units proceed in the production queue, and promptly stop work and notify their supervisor and supporting engineer when errors, discrepancies, or issues are found. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required, and an active existing clearance is required after day one.
