About The Position

Onto Innovation is seeking an Assembly Technician to support the manufacturing and development of measurement equipment for the Semiconductor industry. This role is based in Tampa, FL, and the Assembly Technician will report to the Engineering Manager. The position involves supporting the creation of advanced semiconductor packaging technologies and ensuring customers can solve complex yield, device performance, quality, and reliability issues.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5 years of background experience in mechanical and electromechanical assembly and manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.
  • Highly self-motivated individual willing to take initiative in both solo and teamwork environments.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-discipline environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Extensive experience in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly.
  • Excellent soldering abilities on PCB’s (both through hole and surface mount) and wiring harness assemblies involving many types of specialized connectors and terminations.
  • Extensive experience setting up and assembling large scale industrial equipment or auto mechanic experience.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, electrical and mechanical.
  • Ability to follow Assembly procedures and SOP’s.
  • Experience and utilizing MRP software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
  • A working knowledge of networking and IP addresses for electrical component setup.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing and development of measurement equipment for the Semiconductor industry.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly.
  • Solder PCBs (through hole and surface mount) and assemble wiring harnesses.
  • Set up and assemble large scale industrial equipment.
  • Read technical drawings (electrical and mechanical).
  • Follow Assembly procedures and SOPs.
  • Utilize MRP software.
  • Perform electrical component setup using networking and IP addresses.
  • Lift up to 50lbs.
  • Potentially travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
