About The Position

Under the direction of the Automation Engineer Assistant Manager, this role coordinates and oversees caster machine operations within an assigned production area. The position is responsible for maintaining equipment and materials to ensure safe, efficient production and quality parts that meet specifications. The lead will supervise, train, and delegate tasks to caster machine personnel, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, SOPs, safety practices, and 5S standards. Responsibilities include operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing caster machines and ergonomic equipment to maximize production uptime, performing machine start-ups, shutdowns, setups, and adjustments according to the production schedule, and conducting quality checks. Effective communication with management, maintenance, production personnel, and other shifts is crucial for smooth operations and handoffs. The role also involves identifying major equipment issues, assisting with assembling boxes, pallets, labels, and other materials for finished goods, stacking and loading finished products onto pallets, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area. Reading and following the company production schedule and performing other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on manufacturing or injection molding experience.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to follow procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and verbal/written communication.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. continuously.
  • Ability to respond quickly around moving machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Requires adequate close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies major equipment issues and communicates repair needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Assists with assembling boxes, pallets, labels, and other materials for finished goods.
  • Stacks and loads finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Reads and follows the company production schedule.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
