About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician II for the 2nd shift. This position is eligible for a variable incentive program. The role involves assembling, wiring, fitting, and modifying medium and high voltage assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and associated sub-assemblies. The technician will work from manufacturing documentation, including drawings, sketches, procedures, and instructions, and will be responsible for mounting and installing electrical equipment and performing wiring operations. A key aspect of the role includes lifting, handling, and assembling heavy copper components safely. Additionally, the technician will complete various documentation, maintain inventory levels, inspect assemblies, respond to engineering changes, and support development initiatives by training colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.
  • Proficient in standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook and job‑specific software such as Enovia.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Able to safely and effectively use various hand tools, power tools, step ladders, and cranes.
  • Partner with individuals and groups to successfully operate in a team-based environment.
  • Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods while performing job duties.
  • Use hands and arms to reach at or above shoulder level and to handle, feel, grip, push, and pull materials or tools.
  • Regularly stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull as part of normal work activities.
  • Lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds and push or pull loads that may meet or exceed 50 pounds.
  • Utilize near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination to safely and accurately perform tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience.
  • 1 year of experience using hand and air tools.
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, fit, and modify medium and high voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and any sub-assemblies associated with these.
  • Work from manufacturing documentation, including electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, established procedures, and written or verbal instructions from supervision or engineering.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wiring operations as required.
  • Lift, handle, and assemble heavy copper components while following safe work practices.
  • Complete ISO documentation, quality and customer checklists, feedback forms, and production records accurately and on time.
  • Maintain minimum Kanban inventory levels and report material shortages to appropriate personnel.
  • Inspect assemblies to ensure proper hardware installation, completeness, and cleanliness.
  • Respond to engineering change notices, customer-requested modifications, and development needs.
  • Support engineering, drafting, and supervisory teams with development initiatives and train or coach colleagues to promote knowledge transfer.
