About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician II, 2nd Shift. This position assembles, wires, and modifies components in accordance with established guidelines for manufacturing medium- and high‑voltage indoor and outdoor assemblies. This includes breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and associated sub‑assemblies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Skilled in the safe and efficient use of hand tools and pneumatic (air) tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to safely use hand and power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble products and verify quality in a Lean environment.
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications (Microsoft Outlook and Teams) and job‑specific systems such as ENOVIA.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling.
  • Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs. or more with or without accommodation.
  • Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, wire, and modify components in accordance with established guidelines for manufacturing medium- and high‑voltage indoor and outdoor assemblies.
  • Work from manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written or verbal instructions from supervisors or team leads, following established procedures.
  • Complete ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists as required for supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering.
  • Mount and install electrical equipment and perform wiring operations as needed.
  • Regularly lift, handle, and assemble components that include heavy copper parts.
  • Report material shortages to the appropriate Kanban inventory operators.
  • Inspect all assemblies to ensure hardware is secure, components are complete, and products meet cleanliness standards.
  • Respond to change notices, customer‑requested adjustments, and development needs.
  • Support engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer‑driven development activities.
  • Effectively train and coach colleagues to support knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
