About The Position

This is an advanced-level technician position requiring significant relevant experience across a variety of industrial equipment and manufacturing technologies. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude and experience in multiple technical disciplines such as mechanical assembly, industrial equipment troubleshooting, electrical systems, controls support, machine integration, or maintenance. This individual will be responsible for assembling, testing, verifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting a wide variety of custom industrial equipment and systems. Additional responsibilities may include receiving, shipping, documentation, material handling, equipment support, and other operational functions as needed. While supporting customer installation, startup, or field service activities, this position will work closely with and under the direction of the Director of Field Operations as required. The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently while supporting a collaborative manufacturing environment. This role is also expected to assist with mentoring and supporting junior-level technicians while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and management teams to improve products, processes, and overall operational performance. Limited domestic travel may occasionally be required to support equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, testing, or customer acceptance activities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of work experience and technical training.
  • 3+ years of relevant industrial, manufacturing, machine assembly, maintenance, or related technical experience.
  • Skilled in two or more of the following areas: Mechanical assembly, alignment, and testing; Electrical or electronic assembly and troubleshooting; Pneumatic and hydraulic systems; Troubleshooting of PLC-controlled equipment; Industrial machine startup, repair, or maintenance; Custom equipment assembly or integration.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and willingness to expand cross-functional technical skills are highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, machine assemblies, installation practices, maintenance, and repair procedures.
  • Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and controls is preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and supporting PLC-controlled equipment is preferred. Direct PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of and experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems is required.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD-generated documentation is required. Exposure to systems such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to and use a variety of business software systems including ERP, MRP, and CRM systems.
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.
  • Must be capable of performing receiving operations including material handling, inspection, and documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Exposure to systems such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, engineering prints, schematics, specification manuals, and detailed work instructions for subassemblies, assemblies, and finished equipment.
  • Assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and test industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and related equipment.
  • Support electrical and electronic assembly activities including wiring, component installation, and troubleshooting assistance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and diagnose equipment problems in machinery and related systems.
  • Inspect, operate, and test subassemblies and completed equipment to verify functionality, machine capabilities, and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components and equipment.
  • Verify conformance of parts against drawings and specifications using appropriate measuring instruments and inspection tools.
  • Install machined parts, piping, wiring, pneumatic devices, hydraulic components, and associated assemblies using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Assist with startup, debug, and operational testing of custom industrial equipment.
  • Receive, inspect, document, and handle incoming materials and components from suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and related technical information.
  • Support and mentor junior technicians and assist with technical training activities.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company safety policies and industry regulations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
